Lucy - Curator

It's not only for its conservation work and the presentation of its homes that the National Trust enjoys an excellent reputation, it's also for the high standards of scholarship among its staff and advisers. It was a thrill for me when I first started as an Assistant Curator to be working alongside such a talented team of specialists in so many different fields.

Many of our collections are still shown in the spaces for which they were specifically designed and most are highly personal collections - lovingly brought together by individuals, with each generation adding their own layer. I do feel acutely aware that the work I am doing today is just another, tiny layer in the long life of an historic property.
