Gardening had always been in my blood from a very early age, so even now that I'm in charge of the whole estate there's still nothing I like better than getting out there on my own working in the garden. I've worked at a few really prestigious gardens before this, including Kew and Sissinghurst, where I learnt hands-on from some real masters, so it's good to be able to pass on this knowledge to the team.

I enjoy the freedom I have to plan the garden restoration and choose plants, but it's a real team effort, and working with the whole property team towards shared goals is immensely satisfying. In this life I don't think there can be many more rewarding things than planning a lasting legacy for future generations.
