Help us secure the future of our South West places and outdoor spaces

From the Heddon Valley to the Stonehenge landscape, the South West is home to a vast amount of our outdoor spaces – not to mention its globally renowned golden coastline, of which over 300 miles is protected and cared for by us. We’ve got exciting plans for the future of the South West; plans that will ensure we’re able to care for these special places for many years to come.

The cost of caring for our places and spaces is high, and whilst the support of our members funds the majority of our conservation efforts, it’s vital for us to make sure that we’re attracting new audiences and making the most commercially effective use of our outdoor spaces; because more income means more funds for our nature conservation work.

How will we generate the revenue that we need to care for our special outdoor places? We’re looking for a Commercial Support Consultant to join us and deliver innovative ideas that will enhance our visitors’ experience, attract new audiences and help raise vital income for our wider charity and conservation work. It’s an opportunity like no other; a chance to leave a legacy on a range of incredible places and spaces.

What can we do to increase visitor engagement? How can we generate more income at these outdoor spaces? What will encourage new audiences to visit our spaces? As well as expanding our catering offering and introducing new car parks, we need someone who can think outside the box to help us realise our income potential; someone who can dream up exciting new ways that we can commercialise the use of outside spaces and increase return on investment in these areas.

Tackling this challenge in an innovative and creative way, our Commercial Support Consultant will come up with new ideas instead of just repurposing old ones, and secure the future of our properties by developing their commercial opportunities. The challenge is to create a sustainable product model that’s fit for purpose across a variety of different outdoor spaces throughout the Southwest; a model that, if successful, will be rolled out across the country.

If you’re working in a similar role but are looking for a chance to really make an impact on the future of our outdoor spaces, have a look at our Commercial Support Consultant vacancy to find out more and apply. You’ll help us look after our special places and in return, you can be sure that we’ll look after your career.
